Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)

Summer Food Service Program (SFSP)

This program provides summer meals to students in some of the most poverty-ridden communities in our service area. The program is supported by the Texas Department of Agriculture in conjunction with the United States Department of Agriculture. The support provides reimbursement cost for food, travel, and administration of the program. The program allows us to prepare and distribute daily meals the our three sites where children can come for a meal.

We currently serve three sites, two Boys and Girls Clubs and Third Edition Apartments, both in Odessa. SFSP provides meals to children when they do not have access to the meals provided to them during the school year through the School Breakfast and Lunch Programs.

FREE Lunch during the summer for kids!

The West Texas Food Bank is providing a free meal to kids under the age of 18 at participating sites:
Boys & Girls Club, 800 E. 13th St, Odessa
Boys & Girls Club, 1037 Murphy, Odessa
Third Edition Apartments, 1201 N. Whitaker, Odessa

Meals served here must meet nutrition requirements established by the USDA CACFP program.
