Alpine Avalanche- Food Pantry to distribute food at new location Saturday

The Food Pantry of Alpine will distribute free supplemental food from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at its new location inside the West Texas Food Bank in Alpine, 2101 FM 1703, near the intersection of FM 1703 and West U.S. Hwy. 90.

Recipients needing transportation from Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church to the West Texas Food Bank may contact Gregory Schwab at 432-837-8039 by noon Friday.

Volunteers are asked to arrive by 8:30 am. Additional volunteers who can help with carry-out during the first hour Saturday are always needed.

New food recipients may fill out the short eligibility form at distribution Saturday.

Any organization or group that is planning a food drive or is interested in volunteer community service hours should contact Schwab to set up a time to receive donations or to arrange pickup of items collected.
