ODESSA, TX - The West Texas Food Bank had a big morning as thousand of pounds of food were donated.
Albertson's "Souper Bowl of Caring" campaign collected hundreds of paper bags filled with soups, rice, beans and canned foods for low-income families across West Texas.
Their months of campaigning since the new year raised 60,000 pounds of food.
Albertson's also dropped off a check for more than $54,000 to help the food bank continue their aid.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Texas is the second hungriest state in the nation.
