West Texas Food Bank is a nonprofit 501 (C)(3) hunger relief organization. The Food Bank serves as a clearinghouse that secures donations of surplus, but wholesome, food and grocery products for distribution through a network of approximately 180 charitable organizations. The service area covers more than 45,000 square miles in the 22 counties of far West Texas.
West Texas Food Bank is a member of America’s Second Harvest – The Nation’s Food Bank Network. Membership includes access to national food distribution programs, training, support, inspection and accountability for operations standards. We are also a member of the Texas Food Bank Network.
Administrative offices and the central receiving warehouse are based in Odessa. Additional warehouse operations are in El Paso and Alpine. The Food Bank currently has 25-30 employees and offers benefits including health insurance, paid vacation, and a voluntary retirement plan. Director of Development/Marketing
The primary objectives of development responsibilities are to effectively plan, develop, and implement the Food Bank’s fund raising plan including, but not limited to, the identification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition, and tracking of grants, major gift prospects, and financial donors. Giving leadership to department staff in accomplishing goals related to public relations, marketing and events.
Marketing responsibilities include: Leads and assists in special events and promotion for WTFB. Assists with marketing the Food Bank and its projects., newsletter, and website (i.e. Happenings, Events, Calendar, etc.) Supports other departments and projects of the Food Bank (i.e. Volunteers, Accounting, Development, etc.) in matters of special events, marketing. Participates in staff relationships and contributes additional work as deemed necessary and appropriate.
